When I woke up, Anna was still next to me. A part of me had thought she would slip out in the middle of the night and leave me to wake up alone to cold sheets.

A thrill ran through my body that she was still here. I wanted to pull her close, but I was worried that would wake her up.

Instead, I settled for studying her face.

Her strawberry-blond hair fanned out over the pillow, and her long eyelashes brushed her cheeks. She was beautiful, and my heart clenched at the sight. I could still feel her body around me, and my cock stirred under the sheets.

I talked myself down. I wanted Anna—all of her, as much of her as she would give me—pushing it wasn’t going to work. This was still a working relationship.

In effect, Anna had just slept with her boss.

“Mm,” Anna mumbled as she woke. She stretched her long legs against mine, and her eyes fluttered open. “Morning.”

“Good morning.” I pushed the hair away from her face. She turned her face into the pillow for a moment, her cheeks pink.

“I should go,” she said and sat up. She held the sheets against her chest as if we hadn’t seen each other in all our naked glory last night.

“You don’t have to go yet. Have breakfast with me.”

I wanted to get to know her better, spend more time with her. If she left now, I had a feeling that would be what I got to see of her for the rest of the cruise.

“I shouldn’t,” Anna said and turned her back to me, slipping out of the bed. “I should get back to my room and get dressed. I have so much to take care of today, and this…” She glanced over her shoulder at me. “This can’t keep happening.”

“We’re adults, Anna,” I said. “We’re capable of mixing business with pleasure and not letting it get between us.”

She didn’t answer me. Instead, she looked for her underwear I’d discarded without thought last night and picked up the beautiful dress that was still a crumpled mess on the back of the couch.

“If someone sees me leaving your room wearing last night’s clothes, it won’t look good,” she muttered.

I sighed and walked to the closet. I retrieved a robe.

“Here, you can put this on. It’s still early. Not a lot of people will be out and about—mostly staff.”

She nodded. I wasn’t going to get offended that she didn’t want to be seen leaving my room.

“I’m serious, though, about breakfast. I’d like to get to know you a little better.”

Anna hesitated but nodded.

“Sure. Just give me an hour. I have to shower and make sure the morning staff know what they need to do for the games at lunch.” She slipped the robe over her shoulders and tugged it tight around her waist.

I nodded and stepped closer to her. When I wanted to kiss her, she turned her cheek.

“I’ll meet you in the dining hall. The view is incredible in the morning.”

Anna smiled at me, but it didn’t quite reach her eyes.
